The Friends target special projects that enhance Brandywine Creek State Park and encourage people to take advantage of the opportunities at the park. Working hand in hand with the park staff, the Friends identify areas of need and then go to work to make dreams become reality.
Past accomplishments include securing grants which funded an outdoor amphitheater and canoes and other equipment necessary to begin an aquatic education program.
Current projects include fundraising activities, providing breakfast for monthly birding programs, Adopt a Highway litter cleanups, fishing line recycling and lead sinker exchange program, river cleanup canoe trips, providing sign language interpreters for environmental education programs and daycamp scholarships for those in need. Proceeds from the sale of these photos will help us to continue these worthwhile programs.
